How CR Buddy reviews software

The research, the scoring, and the one rule that never bends: affiliate links do not move a score.

Deep research

Every review starts with the vendor's own docs and pricing pages, then real user reviews on G2, Capterra, and community threads. CR Buddy does not claim hands-on testing of every tool; the assessment is research-led and stated plainly.

AI-stack fit

The score nobody else publishes. Each tool is checked for an MCP server (official, community, or none), API depth (REST, GraphQL, or none), webhook support, and how cleanly an agent can read and write its data.

Real pricing

Every price names its billing period. No invented numbers. Where pricing is custom or opaque, that is flagged rather than guessed, and you are pointed to the vendor's page to confirm.

Clear verdicts

One opinionated take per tool: who it is for, who should skip it, and the better pick if there is one. No fence-sitting.

The editorial score

Each tool gets an editorial score out of 10. It weighs four things: fit for the job it claims to do, real pricing across the tier ladder, how well the tool scales as a team grows, and AI-stack fit. The score leads the ranking on every best-of roundup, with AI-stack fit as the tie-breaker between close tools.

The AI-stack-fit score

This is the Chief Revenue Buddy wedge, scored 0 to 100. It answers one question: can your AI assistants and agents actually drive this tool? Three inputs carry the most weight:

  • MCP support. An official Model Context Protocol server scores highest, a community server next, then planned, then none.
  • API depth. A documented REST or GraphQL API that exposes the data and actions that matter, plus webhooks for events.
  • Agent-readiness. How cleanly an agent can read and write the tool's data without brittle middleware in the middle.

See the live leaderboard on the AI-stack-fit page.

What does not affect a score

Affiliate commissions, vendor relationships, and ad spend play no part in any score or ranking. A tool with no affiliate program competes on equal footing. Read the full affiliate disclosure for how the site makes money.

Keeping reviews current

Pricing and features in this category move fast. Reviews are updated as vendors change plans or ship new capabilities, and each review notes when its pricing was last checked. If you spot something out of date, tell CR Buddy on the contact page.
